Now training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents his first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from March of the previous year.

The win also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one victories at 21 distinct competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.

His retrieving play style and regular outbursts on court had caused some to wonder if his ability to play at the highest level was over.

However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an better service.

The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

Moutet rescued four initial break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, the winner earned victory with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
